Miranda Isbitts is a 20-year-old violinist based in Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance on a Dean's Scholarship at the New England Conservatory, where she studies with Ayano Ninomiya. As a member of the NEC Pratt Early Music Program, she also studies Baroque violin with Renee Hemsing.

Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Miranda began playing the violin at the age of five. Throughout high school, she studied with renowned pedagogue Mimi Zweig and was a leading member of the Jacobs School of Music Violin Virtuosi, performing in ensemble concerts, solo performances, and masterclasses throughout the United States.

Miranda is the recipient of numerous local, national, and international competition awards, including prizes from the Adelphi Orchestra Young Artist Competition, Maurer Young Musicians Competition, Justine LeBaron Young Artist Competition, Essential Music String Concerto Competition, Sherer International Violin and Piano Competition, and others. She was also the winner of the 2026 Mark Zinger Memorial Scholarship Competition and the 2025 New England Conservatory Bales Violin Competition.

As a soloist, Miranda has appeared with The Florida Orchestra, the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra, and the Adelphi Orchestra.

In the summer of 2025, Miranda was a fellow of the Sarasota Music Festival, where she collaborated with distinguished artists including Sandy Yamamoto and Jen Frautschi. She also attended the Virtuoso & Belcanto Strings Festival in Lucca, Italy, studying with Erik Schumann and Krzysztof Węgrzyn. In the summer of 2026, she will attend the Moritzburg Festival Academy in Germany, serving as principal of the festival orchestra.

Miranda has held leadership positions with orchestral ensembles including the Jacobs School of Music Summer String Academy Orchestra, Texas Rising Strings Festival Orchestra, Sarasota Music Festival Orchestra, the New England Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, with whom she toured China and Japan in the summer of 2026.

She has also performed in masterclasses for internationally acclaimed artists including Vadim Gluzman, Kerson Leong, Robin Scott, Almita Vamos, Joel Smirnoff, Noah Bendix-Bagley, Nancy Zhou, Tessa Lark, and many others.

In addition to performing, Miranda is an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about fostering a love of music in young musicians. She teaches several students privately, and serves on the faculty of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School's Baroque Program, where she coaches and mentors students in historically informed performance practice. Through both private instruction and ensemble coaching, she strives to cultivate technical confidence, musical curiosity, and expressive artistry in every student.

Outside of music, Miranda enjoys walking, running, and creative expression through writing and poetry.
